The Cobbler is a comedy fantasy drama directed & written by Thomas McCarthy with Paul Sado. It stars Adam Sandler (FYI. Sandler literally means Cobbler in Hebrew), Dan Stevens, Steve Buscemi (their 10th film together) & Dustin Hoffman.
It is unlike Adam Cobbler's previous work which, to put it gently used to be “creepy comedy”. It also does not have Drew Barrymore (thank God) or a cameo appearance by Rob Schneider (Sacrilegious attempt to be like Stan Lee!)
The story revolves round Max (Adam Sandler), who repairs people's soles (Yes soles and not soul's since he's a cobbler). He stumbles upon a magical heirloom that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and therefore is able to walk a mile in their shoes. He uses his new found power to help people to repair their lives (They could have easily named the movie as The Guardian of the Soles).
This movie is a must watch for those of you who wish to see Adam Sandler do something different for a change. You can catch the movie in the UAE cinema's from the 9th April 2015. In the mean time check out the trailer.
Rating PG-13 out of 5
