The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel as it's name suggests is the sequel to the hit film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Directed by John Madden and written by Ol Parker, it managed to assemble a stellar cast consisting of Richard Gere, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench & Dev Patel (Avengers eat your heart out ;) ).
The movie continues from where it left off with Dev Patel's character Sonny Kapoor this time around intensifying his search to find investors that would allow him to create another branch of his Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Thus starting his unique hotel chain.
The movie seamlessly manages to interweave the stories of the other characters with main story arc. There is no dull moment in this 2 hour long movie and thanks to the amazing and hilarious dialogues and interactions between each of the characters, I for one am willing to forgive the producers for making the famous Route 66 end in San Diego and not Los Angeles.
It is a must watch for those of you who enjoy comedy-dramas and best of all this is one of those movies that does not require the audience to have watched the first part (try watching the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers without watching the Fellowship of the Ring. Than again most people don't understand the Lord of the Rings anyway probably because they fell asleep somewhere in the middle) :).
You can catch the movie in the UAE cinemas on 19th March 2015. In the mean time, check out the trailer.
